This year I had the pleasure of meeting many of our UK clients in the 2008 Library & Information Show in Birmingham. I am looking forward to meeting many of our European clients at the EBSLG Conference at IMD on 1st July. I will be demonstrating many of the latest business resources R4L has to offer. Please drop in for an informal chat. I will also be attending the BBSLG in Leeds on 9th and 10th July. I hope to see many of you there.

Things have been very busy in our new Chicago office as we have built up a six-person team to work with libraries in the United States and Canada. Our team is passionate about helping our clients on the front lines of education, and we have enjoyed presenting our database solutions to libraries across North America.
We were excited to showcase our databases at ALA Midwinter and PLA, and we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new faces at SLA and ALA in June!

Since opening the Asia Pacific R4L offices a year ago there have been many developments and highlights. This year we have successfully negotiated a consortia deal with CAUL, offering all of our resources to their consortia members. We are also currently in discussions with numerous other consortia across Asia and hope to finalise and update you on these soon.
We have also attended our first VALA conference back in February and will be attending our second ALIA conference in Alice Spring in early September where we hope to meet some of you there.
For those of you unable to attend these conferences, where possible we have made and will continue to make more client visit across Australia and other parts of Asia to provide you with a face to your local R4L representative.

I am looking forward to attending the IIUG conference in Cork on 26th and 27th June where I will be presenting Productscan, the world's largest online database of new consumer packaged goods. This product is particularly relevant to many of the courses that the Institutes of Technology offer.
I am also going to be attending the Konsortien meeting in Krems, Austria in September where I am pleased to be demonstrating the full range of Research for Libraries’ products and will be there to discuss how they are of use to your institution.

Earlier this year I attended and presented at the SURF meeting on April 1st in Utrecht, Netherlands, where I had the pleasure of meeting many SURF staff & members. Events like SURF enable Research for Libraries to build awareness & knowledge of the eight online resources we can offer to academic institutions and the benefits of working with a consortium. The SURF meeting was very informative and proved positive as many new Hogescholen and Universities are planning to take on our resources this year.

Account Manager, UK and Netherlands:
Under our academic pledge we have recently launched our Butler Group Knowledge Center Database into the college sector. Offering unlimited access to the product ensures maximum usage and benefit to a college, and feedback on how easy the product is to use and train on has been very positive. In particular we have found that this database is of particular interest to colleges that offer courses in computing, IT, technology, engineering, and business. Following the uptake we predict this will be a very popular product throughout colleges in the UK
Many of my clients are also now using our course matcher: http://www.r4l.info/coursematcher.htm to help promote their current Research for Libraries products to all areas of the institution. This link can also be used when looking at any of our new products as it recommends curriculum areas than can benefit.
